Guru Systems has appointed Conrad Wood as its new Chief Technical Officer to support rapid growth at the company.

Conrad joins the firm from Google, where he worked as a Site Reliability Manager.

With a strong background in supporting growing technology companies, Conrad has split his career between England and Germany. In 2015 he founded Internet of Things (IoT) firm SingingCat in Berlin, providing device management services for both start-ups and the manufacturing industry.

He went on to take the role of Solution Architect Lead for BCG Digital Ventures, where he worked with large enterprise clients to integrate modern technology with existing systems and products.

Before that, Conrad was Deputy Chief Technical Officer at cloud computing firm ProfitBricks, which under his leadership grew from a three-person start-up to a 100-person strong international market leader.

Conrad said: “I have always had a passion for developing technology to improve people’s lives. Guru Systems is the perfect place for me to do that.

“The market has really bought into the solutions the company is developing. I’m looking forward to working with the team and helping Guru Systems continue to grow.”

Casey Cole, Managing Director of Guru Systems, said: “We’re delighted to have someone of Conrad’s calibre joining the team, and he will have a big role to play in helping the company to reach its potential.”

Guru Systems provides smart solutions for decentralised energy, helping to eliminate two of the biggest risks faced by operators of decentralised energy: customer debt and hidden inefficiency.

Its systems are installed on more than 70 decentralised energy networks across the UK.
