London-based Guru Systems has been selected as a finalist for Cleantech Innovate 2015.
The company will have the opportunity to present its innovative smart metering system for district heat networks to an audience of investors, buyers and industry specialists at the event sponsored by the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) and the Technology Strategy Board.
The company’s technology, which has been installed on around 35 district heat networks since 2013, allows operators of onsite energy schemes to effectively monitor and ensure the efficiencies of their heat networks.
The 36 finalists across four sectors – Energy Generation, Green Buildings & Infrastructure, Working with Water, Energy Efficiency & Storage – will compete for a cash prize of €20,000 provided by Climate-KIC.
Now in its third year, Cleantech Innovate showcases companies that will underpin Britain’s future green economy. Finalists are drawn from a variety of organisations, including university spin-outs, corporate R&D departments and individual entrepreneurs, and are chosen to present on the basis that their innovation is both investable and scalable.
The 2015 London event will open with a headline addresses from Amber Rudd MP, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Climate Change, and Henrik Olsen, Founder of the Environmental Technologies Fund.
The event will take place in London at the Institute of Mechanical Engineers on Thursday, February 12.
